I hear from quite a few people who dream of breaking into the media as writers. This is a pretty good overview of the basics on what you should know before you reach out to an editor. It’s by Tony Rogers, whose work really shines in this how-to corner of the media world. Look for his excellent how-to pieces on the about.com/journalism page, he is brilliant and anything he has on offer is always worth a read.
